Zanshin Project Services Limited is owned and run by Tanya Sargent BEng CEng MICE MEI.
Tanya’s early career was spent working in engineering-, contract- and project- management roles for Management Contractor Bovis on major construction projects across a variety of sectors in the UK. She spent a year on secondment in a structural engineering team at Waterman Partnership and went on to pass her professional review and achieve Chartered Engineer status. She went on to become a long-standing member of the Global Alliance team working to deliver new build and maintenance/refurbishment of retail fuel sites for BP, which then provided the opportunity for her to specialise in preconstruction and develop systems and processes to improve the cost and risk profiles of those projects. Tanya was also heavily involved in the pioneering introduction of electric vehicle charging to BP forecourts and the coordination between the retail teams and BP Pulse.
Tanya provides a professional approach to every task with an incredible attention to detail. She has a depth of experience which she combines with curiosity and a enthusiasm for learning.
As well as being a Chartered engineer and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Tanya is a Professional Member of the Energy Institute and holds a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health and Prince 2 Practitioner qualification.
Zanshin is a Japanese term used in martial arts meaning a state of relaxed, alert awareness. Translated literally it means “remaining mind” and is seen as a state of total awareness, mindful of one’s surroundings and vigilant. For Zanshin Project Services this means that we are focussed on our clients, guard against complacency and encourage teamwork and support.
